Ramblings From Straits View..

I am sitting here at my uncle’s place in Johore Malaysia attempting to update my 43things but I just can’t seem too. I am surrounded my 13mth old nephews antics – he is walking around the house (in and out) having the time of his life. The maid is running after him all the while. – ill bet she is really tired and it does show on his face. He laughs he screams throws a tantrum that kid really have some energy in him..

On top of all that noise from that little guy, there’s the sounds of television show blaring in two different language s- Malay and English from two separate rooms in the house – one from my moms room and another from the TV room upstairs where my cousin is watching the biography channel. Mom well she’s sleeping and yes with the television on. She sleeps off and on so she likes her daily soaps to be on. I am thankful that she seems to be doing much better now – way better than from two weeks ago. Yes, I broke my own personal record of staying in Johore more than 10 days but it was all worth well it.. In spite of the stresses & fear involved, lessons were learnt, bonds strengthen and numbness followed suit (maybe ill explain later . maybe..)

I do like it here though. Its more inviting than the previous house maybe because of all the sadness that came with it - those who know me should know what i am talking about. Anyways, the family officially moved here on April 27th 2008 - fresh starts and the best thing is that the coast is just down the street and you can actually smell the sea air especially from the back kitchen which is open air. Sometimes when there is a storm coming, you can feel the sea air on your face & the cool air - BLISS i telll you.

Half past five now and everyone else should be back from work soon and there goes my 4 year old whining yet again – whine she does but I love her to bits – she can really be an angel when she wants too. Sweet considerate polite all the good stuff – you can say she is all sugar & spice and all things nice – that must run in the family *grin*…

I have no idea why I am writing about mundane everyday things but maybe I do it’s a nice start of my lack of writing in the past year or so. My blogs have always been about mundane everyday things though sometimes not at all. They involve family, friends, the special people who leave an impact on my life, experiences of random strangers and the world we live in today. In recent months I have learnt the importance of documenting everyday moments – moments with people we love and care about. In spite of it being everyday, there are those priceless moments in between that I want to immortalize. Words and pictures takes us back to that moment in time when we miss someone who have passed on – it helps keep the hurt at bay for a moment and there is this feeling of calm that takes over…..

I hope this is a start of my writing spree – its funny how I miss writing yet find so hard to do so. Its like missing someone and finding it hard to get in touch with them if that makes any sense..
