Writing Revolution
Maybe I will start a revolution during this school holidays through my writing ;)).. Inspiration comes in many ways and reading this article that I received in my email box a few days ago just got me to thinking. It confirms my thoughts on writing and what I feel about it. Writing as form of getting a point across or escapism for you & others and it can actually open the eyes and hearts of others. The magic of words and ideas creates a kind of awareness as this article illustrates. Here is a daily inspiration about the writing revolution. Makes me want to read Erica Jong’s work Fear of Flying seeing it had quite an impact on Henry Miller and it gave voice to certain things .There is so much truth to the quote the pen is mightier than the sword .. Something to think about ..
Writing Revolutions ..
Making words slant across the page was like making rain. Flowers grew in ink. Hurricanes and revolutions were stirred up by the sound of pen scratching paper." ~ Erica Jong
Making revolutions with a pen...
When Erica Jong's Fear of Flying appeared in 1973, writer Henry Miller praised the book as giving voice "to sex, life, joy, and adventure."
That is the power of the written word, making revolutions in our hearts. To be able to celebrate the endless passion of life... And the magical possibilities.
Writing gives you the power to say what needs to be said, what you are unable to say.
"If you want to change the world," said Martin Luther, "pick up your pen."
Pick up a pen and start a revolution.
