Someone Like You

Music is a universal language. It brings people together – everyone smiles laughs moves to the rhythm of music even if it’s of a different language. The way a song is being sung – the passion of the sing touches the soul of the person who hears it – they may not know the words but they feel the emotions being conveyed. When the song is about love, hope, lost and happiness and the expression is shown the person who hears it feels it and to know the words through translation adds more to the appreciation of the song.

One such song that gave me goose bumps the first time I heard it is by Andrea Bocelli and its called ‘Someone Like You’.. I have heard Van Morrison’s song with the same title but with a different set of lyrics and its just as beautiful – certain people come to mind when both these songs are heard. I have included both the songs with both separate lyrics – each set of lyrics bringing with its own meaning and emotions .. Both the songs have the same bottom line of finding someone whose changed our lives and wanting to be with that someone who has changed someone’s life … Its something we have hope for .. Anyone inlove or is looking or hoping for that special someone or have found that special someone can relate to these songs i am sure.

I think i will let my cousin listen to these songs i think it will be great songs for the wedding seeing my aunt wants relaxed laid back songs so i think these are just it and the meaning that it carries would be perfect for the wedding too.

After reading the lyrics over and over again i have come to the conclusion that the songs mean either having found that someone that you've always dream of or wanting the exact same person who has gone away. I think there are many ways to interpret the lyrics but for me i think its about finding someone the one that your heart desires and the one who desires you and would to anything to be with you .. and that the both of them have made a mark in each others lives ...

And there is something haunting or maybe magical about Andrea Bocelli’s song. Maybe it’s the music arrangement maybe it’s the voice maybe its knowing what he is singing about – it sends you into a dream world .. makes you want to fly spin and be with someone special .. *dreams* ……. Takes me to the field of wildflowers in my sundress barefoot dancing ….
